The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control appointed a 49-year-old Redlands resident Tuesday to head the agency’s Van Nuys District office.

Timothy A. Clark was named the new administrator for the department’s Van Nuys office. Clark replaces Dale Rasmussen, who recently left the agency to take a position with the Army.

Agency interim director Manuel Espinoza said Clark will be a valuable addition to the Van Nuys office.

Clark has been with the agency since 1988, transferring from the California Department of Transportation. He was an ABC senior special investigator at the agency’s Riverside District office until 1993, when he moved to the Santa Ana office in Orange County. He returned to Riverside a year later.

Clark graduated from Cal State San Bernardino with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and sociology. His responsibilities will include overseeing the department’s investigative team in the San Fernando Valley.

The ABC reviews applications for licenses to sell alcoholic beverages and files reports about whether applicants are suitable to sell alcohol on their premises.
