Britney Still Tops; Brightman Arrives
The success of “Space Cowboys” showed that teenagers and young adults aren’t the only people who can go to movies, and a new entry on the album chart marks a similar statement amid the dominance of hip-hop, hard rock and teen pop. Sarah Brightman’s “La Luna” brings the theatrical diva’s classical-pop adaptations and versions of such tunes as “Stormy Monday” and “A Whiter Shade of Pale” into the land of Eminem and Britney, entering the Southern California chart at No. 8 and the national tally at No. 16.
