City managers from across the state elected Huntington Beach Administrator Ray Silver as vice president of the League of California Cities’ City Manager Department during the group’s conference last week.

Silver, a 28-year veteran of local government management, will advance to the department’s presidency in October 2002.

The league’s City Manager Department represents 470 administrators from throughout the state, and meets regularly to discuss issues affecting city government.

Silver’s new duties include representing Huntington Beach in the department, as well as presenting current concerns and issues in all areas of local government.
