Wishing for Another Golden Era
The article “First Dream, First Love, First Gold” (by Michael D’Antonio, Aug. 20) brought out the great sense of natural talent and exuberance that existed in Los Angeles before World War II. You can see that sense of fresh enjoyment and wonderment in the eyes and faces of the basketball players and people surrounding basketball star Frank Lubin. Maybe we have lost that “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” spirit. Let’s hope not as we enter the new millennium.
