For the sixth consecutive year, California Lutheran University has been ranked among the top 25 regional universities in the West by U. S. News & World Report.
The university improved its ranking over last year, moving to 21 on the list from 23.
The national magazine annually rates most American colleges by category on a number of measures of academic quality, including graduation and retention of students, academic reputation, and the proportion of freshmen in the top 25% of their high school graduating classes.
The magazine classifies regional universities as those that offer a range of undergraduate programs and some master’s degrees, but few, if any, doctoral programs.
“The university is pleased to be consistently ranked among the top institutions in the western United States,” said Marc Meredith, director of admissions.
