Littering

* Re a Sept. 14 letter asking for more trash cans: A few weeks ago in a city park, I saw a young woman throwing sunflower seed shells into a flower bed. I pointed out the trash can located just a few feet behind her. She continued throwing the trash in the flower bed for a few more minutes, then came to me and said: “I am not blind. I saw the trash can. Are you the janitor here?” When I admitted that I was not, she went on to tell me to mind my own business. Trash cans are necessary. But when people don’t use them, we need law enforcement.
