The city is working on a preliminary plan to build and landscape a traffic median on Muirlands Boulevard.
Mayor Sherri M. Butterfield said the plan is in the earliest stages and probably won’t go before the council for a decision for at least nine months. The city is also looking to add trees and landscaping to the slopes that separate the street from the housing developments on each side.
Butterfield said the road is wide enough in many places to accept a median, but officials still need to determine whether there are water hook-ups in the appropriate places to allow them to irrigate the landscaping.
