A Few More Surprises and Bruins Will Be 11-0

Let’s see if I’ve got this straight about the last three Rose Bowl Saturdays:
1. All the experts said the Alabama defense would have the UCLA offense for lunch, and a Bruin rookie proved them all wrong.
2. UCLA was supposed to win big-time against Fresno State and was lucky to barely come out with a win.
3. Michigan was the odds-on favorite with the top passer in the country and it was the Bruin passing offense that prevailed in another upset.
So much for all of the experts. I guess that’s why they actually play the games.

UCLA quarterback Ryan McCann, after the victory over Michigan on Saturday: “I think we proved we were the No. 1 team in the nation. I don’t know who else we can beat or what else we can do.”
Give me a break. For openers, try Nebraska or Florida State. Not possible this year? You’ll just have to wait until Nov. 18 (vs. USC) for your comeuppance.

Who paid those UCLA refs to sleep through the Michigan game? Was it the same group who charged 90,000 fans $2.50 for each 69-cent bottle of Sparkletts water? UCLA and the Rose Bowl have no class, and one less attendee from here on out.
