Van Driver Who Hit Author Found Dead
From Times Wire Reports
The driver responsible for the crash that left author Stephen King seriously injured last year has been found dead. Bryan Edwin Smith, 43, had not been seen or heard from for about three days when police were summoned to his home. Authorities found Smith’s body in his bed, and there was no sign of violence or foul play, Capt. James Miclon said, but he was on a “variety of medications.” King was walking along a road when he was struck by Smith’s van.
