Red Cross Schedules Volunteer Training

The American Red Cross is offering training for Ventura County residents who want to volunteer.
In the east county, an introductory course will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Simi Valley Service Center, 1919 Williams St., No. 200 in Simi Valley. West county residents can attend a course Oct. 23 at the Betty R. Plotkin Service Center, 836 Calle Plano, Camarillo.
The class will give an overview of Red Cross services and how volunteers can assist disaster victims, teach health and safety courses, assist at blood drives and speak to community groups.
After the introductory course, participants can further their training with an “Introduction to Disaster Services” course from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 28 at the Simi Valley Service Center. For more information, call 889-2234, Ext. 288.
