City Gun Ordinances
Re “City Council OKs Two Gun Measures,” March 29: I would really be impressed if the City Council passed an ordinance that required bars and liquor stores to get a thumbprint and background check with every drink or bottle of booze they sold. Under our present system, a person who has been previously convicted of spousal abuse, child abuse, drunk driving or assault can buy as much liquor as he or she can pay for without any laws protecting the public.
It is a fact that liquor is the root cause of 10 times more crime and mayhem--including drunk driving--than guns. Why is this always ignored by our leaders?
