Ross Newhan, The Times’ national baseball columnist, will be honored by the Dodgers before tonight’s game at Dodger Stadium. Newhan was elected into the writers’ wing of the Baseball Hall of Fame and will be inducted at Cooperstown, N.Y., in August. Among the gifts Newhan will receive will be a gold replica of a Credential No. 3, following the first two presented by the Dodgers to other Hall of Fame members, the late Bob Hunter of the L.A. Herald-Examiner and L.A. Daily News and the late Jim Murray of The Times.
