Jessie M. Misevic; Store Manager, Bookkeeper

Jessie Marie Misevic, a former retail store manager and bookkeeper, has died at the age of 85.

Misevic, who died Thursday at the Glenwood Care Center in Oxnard after a long illness, was born Oct. 8, 1915, in High Point, N.C.

She had been a resident of Ventura County for 53 years, moving from Burbank to Port Hueneme in 1947 and later to Oxnard.

For many years she worked as the manager of a retail store and as a bookkeeper.

She was a member of the Port Hueneme Women’s Club, the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Oxnard and the North Oxnard Methodist Church.

Misevic enjoyed playing bridge and raising orchids.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Albert; a son, Burt of Camarillo; a daughter, Ruth Misevic of Santa Rosa; a sister, Jamie Straw of Santa Ana; and two grandchildren.

A graveside service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. Larry Wayman of the North Oxnard Methodist Church officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the James A. Reardon Mortuary in Oxnard.
