A 72-year-old woman was killed Sunday after her husband accidentally backed his car into her as she guided him into the garage, crushing her against a wall, authorities said.

Lily Abraham died of multiple trauma at Northridge Hospital Medical Center soon after the 10 a.m. incident, police said.

“[The husband] unintentionally accelerated the vehicle,” said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Ralph Fournier of the Valley Traffic Division.

The victim’s husband, Moshi Abraham, 74, could not be reached for comment.

At the home in the 10400 block of Glade Avenue, the open garage door revealed a 1995 BMW with its rear bumper against the back wall, which was cracked from ceiling to floor.

Neighbors said they did not know the couple, who moved into the neighborhood two months ago.
