* Television production and distribution company Carsey Werner Mandabach has named industry veteran Michele DiLorenzo to head its new business unit, CWM Ventures, which will focus on overall strategic direction and new business opportunities. DiLorenzo previously worked with Paul Allen’s Vulcan Ventures.

* Patrick Fitzgerald has been named senior vice president, sales and distribution, for Buena Vista Home Entertainment, the marketing, sales and distribution arm for Walt Disney Co.’s entertainment units. He was an executive at Citibank.

* Executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles International Inc. has named Frank A. Evers as a principal in its L.A. office. He will focus on media, communications and technology. He’s a former executive with Disney Interactive.

* Danica Zimmerman has joined animation and design studio Creative Capers in Los Angeles as vice president of development. She’s a former Film Roman vice president of development.
