New Pacoima School Clinic Opens Today
A new health center for students will open today at Maclay Middle School in Pacoima.
Created with a $230,000 county grant, the center will serve a student population of about 4,500 at four northeast San Fernando Valley schools: Maclay Middle, Maclay Primary Center, Broadous Elementary and Pacoima Elementary.
The clinic, which was set up in a room on campus, will be open 28 hours a week and have a part-time staff that includes a physician, nurse practitioner and a health educator.
Among the services offered will be immunizations, physical examinations and screenings for diabetes and tuberculosis.
