NEWPORT BEACH

4:30pm

Music

Mozart wrote five violin concertos when he was 19 and still employed as the concertmaster in the court orchestra of the Archbishop of Salzburg. Having mastered the form, for reasons unknown, he never returned to it. Roger Wilkie plays the Fifth Concerto (also known as the “Turkish” Concerto because of a Gypsy-like section in the last movement) with the Mozart Classical Orchestra led by founding director Ami Porat. The program also will include Mozart’s Symphony No. 24 and Michael Haydn’s Symphony in G.

* Mozart Classical Orchestra, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 600 St. Andrews Drive, Newport Beach. 4:30 p.m. $15 to $32. (949) 830-2950.

SANTA ANA

8pm

Pop Music

Jason Bonham has carried on the musical legacy of his father, Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, in a solo career that started in his teens. A few years ago he decided it was time to do so not only in spirit but in song selection as well. Their album “In the Name of My Father--The Zepset Live From Electric Ladyland” found Bonham and his mates in the Jason Bonham Band powering through songs from the Zeppelin songbook. So it’s not unlikely that they’ll pull out a Zep number or two when the group stops Sunday at the Galaxy.
