In the Century League:

Villa Park 202, Foothill 214--At Strawberry Farms, Villa Park (12-4, 9-1) avenged an earlier defeat to Foothill and earned its eighth consecutive league championship.

In South Coast League softball:

Mission Viejo 5, San Clemente 4--April Marine’s infield hit off the pitcher’s glove drove in the winning run in the seventh for the host Diablos (7-15, 2-3).

In Century League boys’ swimming:

No. 8 Canyon 124, Santa Ana Valley 46--Canyon’s Chris Meyer, who won two events, set a school record in the 100 butterfly (54.67). Meyer, who also won the 500 freestyle (4:44.14), joined Ryan Purpero, Jon Pease and Colby Schlaht in setting a school record in the 200 freestyle relay (1:31.28.

In the Sea View League:

No. 7 Newport Harbor 108, Aliso Niguel 57--Ryan Lean, Andrew Cole and Peter Belden each won two events for Newport Harbor (6-2, 3-1).

In nonleague boys’ swimming:

Dana Hills 101, No. 6 Laguna Hills 69--Scott Baer and Chris Smith each won two individual events and were part of two winning relay teams for host Dana Hills (7-2-1).

In Sunset League boys’ volleyball:

No. 3 Fountain Valley 3, Huntington Beach 0--Nate Hagstrom had 14 kills and Russ Holmes 11 for visiting Fountain Valley (9-2, 7-0), which won, 15-2, 15-13, 15-12.

No. 7 Marina 3, Esperanza 0--Steffin Rangel had 18 killsand setter Beau Peters had 51 assists for host Marina (12-2, 6-1) in a 15-4, 15-5, 15-11 victory.
