Investigation Into Allegation By USC’s Hair Continuing

It appears there will not be a quick resolution to an allegation by USC basketball player Nate Hair of harassment by assistant coach Dave Miller.

Attorneys for USC and Hair said Friday an investigation into the charge was only beginning.

“We’re dealing with each other amicably,” said John Mendoza, Hair’s attorney, regarding discussions between him and USC.

Kelly Bendell, spokeswoman for the University Counsel, said she could not comment about the investigation.

Hair, 20, a sophomore, said he had been instructed by attorneys not to speak about the allegation.

Sources close to the case said the reported incident occurred at a team practice last season. Hair contends that Miller grabbed him around the head and made inappropriate comments.

Calls to Coach Henry Bibby’s office were not returned Friday and Miller could not be reached for comment.
