It’s All Relative

As I read your “Travel Advisory” (“Riots Break Out in Northern England,” July 22) discussing riots in England, marches in Northern Ireland, protesters in Germany and high crime in Mexico City, I wondered whether L.A. should have a permanent section in that column.

Perhaps we should occasionally be reminded what we are leaving behind--gang violence, road rage, escaped prisoners, etc.--so that the trade-off can be determined.
