Some Residents to Get Credits on Water Bills

Fillmore residents will get a surprise on their October water bills in the form of a credit to offset overcharges since 1998.
The amount of credit will vary depending on how much individual customers were overbilled. The billing error affected only those who used more than 1,000 cubic feet of water in any billing period between July 1998 and July 2001.
The error was caused by a paperwork mix-up and is expected to result in credits totaling up to $400,000. The credits will first appear on October statements.
