Cook at Detention Center Held in Attacks on Girls
A cook was charged Monday with sexually assaulting two girls at a county juvenile detention center in Saugus.
The district attorney’s office charged Jose Holquin, 56, with statutory rape, forcible lewd acts with a minor and assault with intent to commit a lewd act.
Holquin, of South Gate, was arrested Aug. 16 after an investigation by the county sheriff’s and probation departments. The investigation began after several girls at Camp Scott complained.
Holquin is being held in lieu of $160,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 22 in Los Angeles Superior Court.
