An 8-year-old girl was in critical condition late Friday after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver, authorities said.
The girl, whose name was not released, tried to cross Western Avenue near Cerritos Street in Stanton at 8 p.m., Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said.
A blue or brown Z-type car struck the girl, then fled, investigators said. She was taken to Anaheim General Hospital with head injuries, authorities said.
