LAX Ticket Trouble

Share

Recently a friend dropped me off at Terminal 1 at LAX. It was jammed on the upper departure level, so we went to the lower arrivals level. (I planned to walk upstairs to avoid the congestion.) It was empty, so my friend let me out at the former shuttle van island.

Before I could say goodbye and thanks for the ride, an airport traffic officer appeared from the inside curb, writing a $60 ticket. We were too busy looking at traffic to see the posted signs. The officer said it was a new FAA regulation because they did not want passenger vehicles close to the buildings.

If they were worried about us causing a problem, it would have been done by the time the officer arrived. If they are concerned about my protection, the officers should be stationed outside to prevent cars from stopping there. These tickets won’t prevent anything in a real event, but they will pay for extra officers.
