Hahn Meets With Israeli Families Hurt by Violence

Mayor James K. Hahn met Friday with Israeli families who have lost relatives to bombings and brutality, saying Americans now better understand their pain after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
“There are holes in the heart that cannot be repaired,” Hahn said during a morning visit with the families at City Hall.
The mayor urged residents to participate in a 5K walk Sunday morning at the Museum of Tolerance in West Los Angeles to raise money for Israeli and American terrorism victims.
The walk is being organized by One Family/The Israeli Emergency Solidarity Fund, a group inspired by 12-year-old Israeli Michal Belzberg, who asked that friends and relatives donate to victims of terrorism instead of throwing her a party for her bat mitzvah.
