Welcome Mat Out for Cycling N.Y. Firefighters

Hundreds of well-wishers are expected in Pasadena today to welcome six New York City firefighters--whose engine company lost 10 members in the World Trade Center attack--as they complete a cross-country “Thank You America” tour on bicycles.
The firefighters of Engine Co. 33 set out a month ago as a way of showing their appreciation for the nation’s support after the Sept. 11 attacks.
The reception, sponsored by the Los Angeles and Pasadena fire departments, will be held at the Old Firehouse office building, 35 W. Dayton St.
The New York firefighters have pedaled 60 to 100 miles a day and have been put up along the way by fellow firefighters.
