Farmer Rolls With It

With USC employing its seventh different starting lineup in eight games, sophomore shooting guard Desmon Farmer found himself on the bench to start the Trojans’ 59-55 victory against Miami of Ohio Sunday.

Farmer, who had started the three previous Trojan games after being benched for the game at Bradley, when he had 12 family members in attendance, didn’t flinch. “I just felt that Coach [Henry Bibby] wanted me to come off the bench,” Farmer said, “to be a spark and do whatever it took.”

Farmer, who ended up playing 25 minutes against the RedHawks, had nine points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal. His biggest play came with less than 90 seconds remaining in the game and the Trojans’ 55-52 lead in jeopardy. Farmer then tied up a pair of Miami players on a loose ball. The possession arrow pointed to USC. “That was a big play,” Bibby said.
