Teen Sitting in Car Is Shot in Leg
A 17-year-old Oxnard boy was shot in the left leg by an unknown assailant as he sat in a car with a friend in the 900 block of Bismark Way, police said.
The teenager was treated at St. John’s Regional Medical Center after the shooting at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Det. Erik Mora.
The victim’s name was not released because he is a juvenile.
Mora said the gunman walked up to the driver’s side of the car and opened fire. There is no indication that the shooting was gang-related, Mora said.
The gunman was described as a male between 18 and 20 who was wearing dark pants and a dark, hooded sweatshirt.
