The Manhattan Beach City Council has offered a $25,000 reward in hopes of finding two robbers who killed a man in the city’s fashionable downtown district.
Thomas Chan, 36, of Burbank was shot several times as he sat in his car shortly after midnight Friday, police said. A friend told police he and Chan had just dropped off another friend in the 200 block of 11th Street and were about to leave in their separate vehicles, parked side by side, when they were approached by two men demanding money. One had a handgun and, after taking Jones’ wallet, turned his attention to Chan and fired at him.
Witnesses said the two men fled in a blue, newer-model Hyundai or Toyota Camry. Anyone with information is asked to call the reward hotline at (310) 802-5171.
