No One Steps Up for Millions From Lottery
From Times Wire Reports
A $13-million lottery prize is now someone’s hard luck story.
No one stepped forward to claim the award from the Texas Lottery in time to meet the deadline, lottery officials said.
The ticket was worth $7.3 million after taxes, and the money will be donated to indigent health care programs, lottery officials said. The only way the winner will get the money now is if the ticket arrives at lottery headquarters with a postmark of Dec. 20 or earlier.
