From Times Wire Reports

A cargo ship intercepted in the English Channel after a tip-off that it might be carrying terrorist materials was given the all clear, police said.

The vessel Nisha--operated by the Bombay, India-based Great Eastern Shipping Co.--was bound for a sugar refinery on the Thames in eastern London with 26,000 tons of raw sugar when stopped Friday amid fears that it could be smuggling explosives or other materials that could be used in terrorist attacks against Britain.

A police official said in a statement that new information and an examination of the vessel had led police to conclude that the ship did not pose any danger.
