County Online Auctions Produce Cash Windfall
Online auctions are producing a windfall of cash for Kern County.
County officials said they collected more than double what they hauled in last year by auctioning off defaulted property on the Internet rather than in person.
The county took in nearly $3.2 million this year, the first full year of online sales. In 2000, traditional auctions brought in about $905,000.
