Woman Thrown From, Pinned Under Car Dies
An Irvine woman died Wednesday after a traffic accident in which she was thrown from a car and pinned under it.
The accident at Culver Drive and Bryan Avenue occurred shortly before 7 a.m. and involved a Honda Civic and a Ford Windstar.
Maria Hernandez, 58, a passenger in the Windstar, was pinned beneath it. She wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
The two drivers and a second Windstar passenger were treated at the scene.
Police believe that one of the cars may have run a red light. Anyone who saw the accident is asked to call (949) 724-7024.
