Matadors Take Lead in Big Sky
Cal State Northridge continued its dominance of Cal State Sacramento, moving into sole possession of first place in the Big Sky Conference with a 100-78 victory at Northridge.
Marco McCain scored a career-high 21 points and Brian Heinle, the Big Sky’s scoring and rebounding leader, had 22 points and seven rebounds. Markus Carr added 14 points and extended his school-record streak to 31 consecutive free throws.
The Matadors (14-8, 7-2) defeated Sacramento (3-15, 0-7) for the 10th consecutive time and 12th time in a row at Northridge. The Hornets have lost eight in a row.
Northridge plays host to Weber State (11-7, 6-2) tonight in a battle for first.
