Musician, 64, Is Convicted of Killing Wife’s Boss
A 64-year-old musician who shot and killed his estranged wife’s boss because he suspected they were having an affair was convicted of first-degree murder Friday.
Stephen Kopy, an accordion player from West Hills, shot Andrew John Camarata, 63, of La Crescenta, at Aramark Uniform Services in downtown Burbank on June 12.

Killer’s residence--A story in Saturday’s Valley Edition incorrectly reported where Stephen Kopy lived. Kopy, a 64-year-old accordionist who was convicted Friday of first-degree murder for shooting his estranged wife’s boss, was a North Hills resident.
Camarata was vice president of operations and support for the company’s uniform division.
Kopy was also convicted in Pasadena Superior Court of two counts of assault for pointing a gun at his wife, Martha, and at another Aramark employee, said Sandi Gibbons, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
Kopy, who is facing 50 years to life in prison, is scheduled to be sentenced March 12, officials said. Kopy’s suspicions that his wife was having an affair with Camarata were unfounded, Burbank police said.
