* James Kuciel has been appointed vice president of sales and support for Zuma Networks Inc. in West Hills.

Kuciel will be responsible for worldwide sales and technical support of the company’s products and services.

Zuma Networks, a technology investment partner of MRV Communications Inc., develops Internet protocol platforms.

* Frederick M. Lax has joined Tekelec of Calabasas as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Lax assumes leadership for the operating performance of all business units.

Tekelec develops telecommunications signaling infrastructure, soft switches, diagnostic solutions and service applications.

* James V. Parkin has been named senior vice president of sales and business development at Medical Resources Management Inc. in Glendale.

Medical Resources provides medical equipment and technical services to health care facilities in the West.

* Debbie Miller has been hired as senior vice president of publicity for Warner Bros. Pictures in Burbank.

Miller will supervise publicity and promotional activities for selected Warner Bros. Pictures releases.
