* Delphi Automotive Systems Corp., the world’s top auto-parts maker, said it is temporarily laying off 3,700 hourly employees--or nearly 7% of its U.S. hourly work force--starting Monday. The layoffs will last at least one week.

* San Francisco-based McKesson HBOC Inc., the biggest U.S. drug wholesaler, said it signed a contract valued at $33 billion with closely held pharmacy-buying group ServAll Health Alliance to provide drugs and other services. The contract lasts through March 2010 and replaces a $10-billion, five-year agreement set to expire in 2004.
