Placentia police are looking for a man who fled on foot after being sought in connection with a report of gunshots fired.
The man was able to avoid a perimeter comprising several Placentia and Anaheim officers in the 2700 block of East La Palma Avenue in Anaheim, near the Orange and Riverside freeways, Placentia Sgt. Richard Pascarella said.
Police received reports of shots fired outside a house on La Jolla Street in Placentia about 7 p.m. A caller described a car that was said to belong to the shooter.
Police spotted a car fitting the description and followed it into Anaheim. Two occupants fled on foot, and one was detained.
Pascarella said no injuries were reported.
He would not identify the detained man or specify charges against him.
