Entertainment Site Z.com Is Broke, Will Shut Down

Share

Adding to the casualty list in the online entertainment sector, Z.com said it has run out of money and will shut down. The Burbank-based company was launched last year and attracted as many as 750,000 visitors a month with short films and animations aimed at adolescent and college-age audiences. Chief Executive Joe DiNunzio said Z.com should be able to cover its debts of less than $1 million by selling its shows, equipment and Internet addresses, including https://www.comedy.com. The company has only five full-time employees, down from 90 in October, when it began a series of layoffs and cutbacks.
