Friends of Library to Hold Book Sale

Share

Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library will stage a used-book sale March 10 to benefit the city’s two libraries.

The sale will feature a variety of hardback and paperback books, CD-ROMs, videotapes, records and DVDs. The diverse selection will include a 164-videotape set titled “Dyslexia Training Program for Teachers and Parents,” school textbooks and rare publications.

“We have people in the community who have been coming to these sales for years,” said Carol Knowles, president of the library support group. “Some buy a whole box or shopping bag of literature that they subsequently read and then donate back to the library before the next sale.”

Proceeds from the sale will be used to buy equipment, software, books, CD-ROMs and videotapes and to fund special library programs and events. A sale in November generated approximately $3,900.

The sale will take place at the Newbury Park branch, located at 2331 Borchard Road.
