Long Beach, which is coming off a 71-56 upset of Utah State, has owned the Anteaters in recent seasons and holds a 41-19 series edge. The 49ers have won three in a row. Front-running Irvine, which has a one-game lead over Utah State, has won three in a row and 16 of 17, including a school-record 11 victories in 12 starts at the Bren Center. Travis Reed had 19 points and 14 rebounds in the 49ers’ win over Utah State. Four players scored in double figures, including a career-high 35 points by guard Jerry Green, in Irvine’s 93-89 come-from-behind victory Saturday over Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
