Man Is Hospitalized After Shooting in Barbershop
A man was shot in the lower back at a barbershop in the 1000 block of South La Brea Avenue on Wednesday night.
Police who cordoned off the area around Super Star Hair said they have no idea who shot the unidentified man, who is in his 20s.
He was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Employees of a fast-food stand across the street from Super Star heard a shot about 8:15 p.m. but kept working, thinking it was “leftover firecrackers from New Year’s Eve,” Dora Escobar said.
A few minutes later, they heard four more shots and rushed to see what was happening.
They saw a man walk from inside the barbershop to the front door and peer into the night, she said. He was shirtless and holding his side.
