Library Hosts Exhibit on Queen

To highlight Queen Victoria’s 64-year reign of Great Britain, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum will host the exhibit “Queen Victoria: Powerful Ruler of a Mighty Empire” starting Jan. 20.

The three-month, multimedia show will include hundreds of paintings, several sculptures and personal items including clothing from the queen and other members of the royal family.

The exhibit will also include a documentary film about her life and the Victorian era.

Part of the exhibit, which is sponsored by the Forbes Magazine Collection, will feature documents and memorabilia from the era.

The exhibit, which has also been displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, coincides with the 100th anniversary of the queen’s death, and continues through April 29.

Queen Victoria was born in London in 1819 and ruled Great Britain and Ireland from 1837-1901, the longest reigning monarch in English history.

General admission to the museum, which includes access to the exhibit, is $5, $3 for seniors and free for kids age 15 and younger. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
