Troublemakers in School
A Times article (Jan. 7) described Orange County’s program for identifying and treating school troublemakers. Someone has concluded that school is no place to learn fear and hatred. Someone has said, “Damn the lawsuits; full speed ahead!”
In my time, people had the silly notion that our expensive public schools were for the purpose of preparing children to become informed, responsible citizens. You didn’t sass the teacher, even if you were a 200-pound tackle.
