* Opera--The West Valley Opera Theatre will perform two short, one-act operas this weekend at the West Valley Playhouse in Canoga Park. Gian Carlo Menotti’s “The Telephone” is a comedy love triangle between a man, a woman and her telephone; and Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Coffee Cantata” deals with a woman’s obsession with coffee during the coffee craze of the 1700s. Featured singers include Benito Galindo, Elizabeth Holloway, Steven Hyder, Tracy Shea and Pablo Veguillo. * Collectibles--The All-American Collectors’ Show will be held this weekend at the Glendale Civic Auditorium. More than 200 dealers will offer a large selection of tin wind-up toys, cast-iron toys, Disney toys, Americana, penny arcade items, movie memorabilia, trains, dolls, slot machines, gambling and advertising items. * More Collectibles--The Hollywood Collectors and Celebrities Show is scheduled this weekend at the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn in North Hollywood. Some of the celebrities scheduled to appear are Shirley Jones, Danny Bonaduce, Kevin McCarthy, Ruta Lee, Clint Howard and Carol Lynley. * Celtic Music--Tamlyn, an Orange County-based Celtic band, will perform Sunday at the Raven Playhouse in North Hollywood. Drawing upon Scottish, Irish, English, Welsh and American folk traditions, the band blends elements of jazz and classical music to create bass-, flute- and fiddle-driven music, as well as reels, jigs and lullabies.
