Trepagnier Ignites a Spark at Start

Share

As promised, USC Coach Henry Bibby changed his starting lineup, replacing freshman guard Desmon Farmer with senior Jeff Trepagnier.

Trepagnier made only one of six shots and scored six points, but he did grab a team-high eight rebounds in 37 minutes.

“I’m still finding myself,” he said. “Sam [Clancy] and Brandon [Granville] were doing well so I just played defense today.”

It was apparent, however, the other starters--David Bluthenthal, Granville, Clancy and Brian Scalabrine--were excited to see him back, which was one of the things Bibby was looking for.

“We had dropped a couple of games and the intensity level had gone down,” Bibby said. “Jeff gives us another athletic player . . . who can rebound run the floor, block shots and change the tempo of the game.”
