Amaryllis S. Flores; Lifelong County Resident

Lifelong Ventura County resident Amaryllis Sattler Flores died Friday. She was 73.

Flores was born June 26, 1927, in Fillmore. She was a homemaker, a mother of three daughters and the wife of John P. Flores, a retired scout for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team.

The Ventura woman was an avid baseball fan and a member of the American Legion and American Auxiliary Post 339 in Ventura. She graduated from the former St. Catherine Academy in Ventura and was active at the San Buenaventura Mission.

In addition to her husband, Flores is survived by daughters Candace M. Gaddie of Ventura, Pamela Lawter of Port Hueneme and Teresa L. Maxwell of Ventura; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethyl and Fred Sattler.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Assn.

A service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura. Family and friends also can visit from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home in Ventura, which was handling all arrangements.
