Three other arts events coincide with the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach:

Festival of Arts, today through Aug. 31: The summer event features 150 regional artists whose original artworks are juried. The works range from underwater photography to plein-air paintings. Although the festival has long been known for its summertime events, organizers plan to extend the festival beyond its eight-week run in this, its 69th year. The new events calendar, coming up in the fall, will include concerts, performances from Ballet Pacifica and Opera Pacific, a film series and community productions. The first annual Laguna Beach Jazz and Pop Festival, Sept. 21 through 23, also will be held. Organizers say they want the arts lineup to become part of a year-round calendar of events.* Festival of Arts, 650 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach. Open daily 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. $3 to $5.
