New Dean Chosen for College of Engineering
An engineering professor from a New York university has been appointed dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Cal State Fullerton, officials said Thursday.
Raman Unnikrishnan, whose appointment is effective Aug. 1, is chairman and professor of electrical engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He is credited with enhancing the research of the electrical engineering faculty at the private university while improving the department’s national reputation. Last year, U.S. News & World Report ranked the department as having the fifth-best electrical engineering program among comprehensive institutions.
Unnikrishnan will succeed Richard D. Rocke, who was acting dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science for 3 1/2 years.
