Parolee Leads Police on Televised Car Chase

A parolee wanted on drug charges led police on a televised hourlong car chase Tuesday through half a dozen cities, ending in Compton when he hit another vehicle.

The chase began about 10 a.m. when police pulled over Dean Michael Wills, 33, of Fullerton in Anaheim near Disneyland. He sped away, reaching speeds of 125 mph on freeways and 65 mph on streets, said Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff’mo A few minutes into the chase, the driver let off a woman passenger near the Orange County Fairgrounds and threw an automatic pistol from the window, Amormino said.

At Rosecrans and Wilmington avenues, Wills’ car crashed into another car, injuring two passengers. Wills sprinted into bushes but was arrested.
